XII International Symposium on Recycling Technologies and Sustainable Development

Technical Faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade, organized the XII International Symposium on Recycling Technologies and Sustainable Development (XII RTSD) in the hotel "Jezero", Bor Lake, from 13th to 15th September 2017.

The symposium provided a forum for the exchange of the latest information and research results among scientists, researchers, experts and representatives in the fields of recycling, waste management, sustainable development, environmental protection and other related fields. All accepted papers were printed in the Proceedings, edited by prof. Dr Grozdanka Bogdanović and prof. Dr Milan Trumić, and the publisher was the University of Belgrade, Technical Faculty in Bor (ISBN 978-86-6305-069-3). It includes 44 papers of 135 authors from nine different countries: Germany, Slovakia, Japan, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

More than 120 participants attended the symposium. The Symposium was composed of plenary lectures, oral presentations, sponsors' presentations and a poster section. Opening ceremony was held on 13th September 2017. The guests were addressed by prof. Dr Grozdanka Bogdanović, President of the Organizing Committee, prof. Dr Milan Trumić, President of the Scientific Committee, prof. Dr Dejan Tanikić, Vice-Dean for Scientific Research and International Cooperation at the Technical Faculty in Bor, and Blagoje Spaskovski, General Manager of RTB Bor, who officially opened this year's symposium. Two keynote speakers held plenary lectures: prof. Dr Zorana Naunović (Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia) and Ing. Slavomír Hredzák, PhD (Institute of Geotechnics, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Slovak Republic).

A round table on the topic "Mineral Waste Management - Current Issues" was organized in cooperation with The Association of Young Researchers Bor. Parallel with the XII RT&SD, 6th Student’s Symposium with international participation (VI SSRTOR) was also organized. All 14 papers written by students from Serbia were accepted and printed in the Proceedings, edited by Doc. Dr Zoran Štirbanović and prof. Dr Jovica Sokolović, and printed by the Technical Faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade (ISBN 978-86-6305-068-6).

All the participants of the conference were invited to the welcome cocktail reception and offered the possibility of attending the conference dinner and going on a field trip (Kafić Jama).

IN MEMORIAM
PROF. DR ZORAN MARKOVIĆ
(1949 - 2017)

Prof. dr Zoran Marković, a full professor at the Technical Faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade, was born on 28th September 1949 in Mađere, Ražanj. He started working at the Technical Faculty in Bor in 1985, at the Department for Mineral Processing, and he worked there until his sudden death on 9th July 2017. His scientific interest included various research areas, such as Flotation, The Physics and Chemistry of Mineral Surfaces, Raw materials testing and Environmental protection. Professor Marković was a member and the president of the scientific and organizing committees of several international conferences: International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy, The Symposium on Mineral Processing and ECO- Truth. He was the president of the organizing committee of the first national Symposium on Recycling Technologies and Sustainable Development with international participation and the tenth international symposium. He was tireless and committed teacher who had remarkable relationship with his students. He was always there to help and give advice, and he was much appreciated and respected by his student, as well as his colleagues. Prof. dr Zoran Marković will always be remembered as an exceptional teacher, a scientist, a colleague and a friend.

The Organizing Committee invites all scientists, researchers, managers, engineers, experts and students working in the field of recycling and sustainable development, to participate in XII International Symposium on Recycling Technologies and Sustainable Development that will take place in Bor (Bor Lake), Serbia, from 13-15 September.

XII International Symposium on Recycling Technologies and Sustainable Development (XII RT&SD) is organized annually, with an aim of providing a forum of scientists and experts dealing with recycling R&D problems and /or adjoining areas.

The Symposium is organized by the Technical Faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade, Serbia. We welcome all participants and wish them a successful symposium.

TIME AND VENUE

XII RT&SD will be held from 13-15 September 2017 at Hotel Jezero, Bor Lake, (Serbia), Eastern Serbia (about 260 km south-east of Belgrade).

 

SYMPOSIUM PROGRAMME

The Symposium will be organized in sections, including plenary lectures, section lectures, oral and poster presentations. The lectures in plenary sessions will be given by invited lecturers. Papers will be presented in oral or in poster sessions. The presentation of papers is limited to 10 minutes.

    Instructions for Authors

    The authors are kindly invited to submit their full-length papers (up to 6 pages including figures and tables) till July 15, 2017. EXTENDED

    Maximum length of papers is 6 pages (with enclosures) format A4, all margins 2.5 cm. The papers should be prepared in MS Word for Windows format; font: Times New Roman (Multilanguage support); single spacing.

    A paper should include the following parts: title, full names of the authors, abstract and the keywords, introduction, paragraphs (material and methods of work, results and discussion of the results), conclusion and a list of references. The paper should be prepared in the following way:

  • The title (max. 2 lines, centered, font size 14pt bold).
  • Name and surname of all authors and the name of their institutions (centered, font size 12pt).
  • Abstract (up to 100 words). Below abstract write up to five key words (Key words: xx, yy..).
  • Subtitles should be centered with one row above and below the subtitle, font size 12pt bold.
  • References should be quoted by numbers (Surname, first initial, year and title of work, journal, page, publisher, place).
  • Tables should be prepared in Word or Excel and graph in Excel. Pictures should be prepared as scanned (tiff, jpeg, gif or bmp format).
  • Above tables and below graphs and pictures write titles, font size 12pt italic (Figure 1. Yx..., Table 1. Yx....,).
  • Submission of Papers

    The authors are kindly invited to submit abstracts before July 15th, 2017. EXTENDED using REGISTRATION FORM HERE and full papers before July 15th,2017. EXTENDED

    One author, as the first author, can submit two papers at the most.

    All papers will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the Symposium.

    Selected papers presented at the Conference can be submitted in an extended form in Journal "RECYCLING AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT" (http://www.rsd.tfbor.bg.ac.rs).

    Publishing Fee

    Only papers accepted by the Scientific Committee and for which authors have made advance payment for publishing will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Advance payment of 50 EUR+VAT for the participants of the Symposium is included in registration fee.

    The Symposium fee is 100 EUR+ VAT. It includes admission to the Symposium sessions, Symposium Proceedings and the accompanying materials, welcome cocktail, conference dinner and refreshments during the Symposium

    The symposium fee for the accompanying person is 60 EUR+ VAT. It includes all items specified for the participants except the Symposium Proceedings and the accompanying materials.

    An exhibition will be held during the Symposiumin the exhibition hall, which will be a good opportunity for the companies dealing with Recycling and Sustainability topics and the related fields to introduce their products and services. Exhibition will be open throughout the Symposium.

    Exhibition fee of 200 EUR + VAT for one delegate includes exhibition booth, Proceedings and other materials, welcoming cocktail, refreshments during the breaks and Symposium dinner.

    Letter of Invitation

    XII RT&SD will issue letters of invitation to those participants who need such a document for providing an entry visa. However such letters do not commit RT&SD to provide financial support to holders of this document. Requests for letters of invitation should be sent to the 0rganizing Committee of XII RT&SD .

    Personal Insurance

    The Organizer cannot be held responsible for accidents involving Symposium participants or the accompanying persons, for damage or loss of their personal properties as well as the expenses caused by cancellation, regardless of its cause.

    Participants should therefore make their own insurance arrangements. Please consult your local insurance agents regarding coverage.
